Southwest  is a community in Minneapolis made up of nine smaller neighborhoods: Armatage, East Harriet, Fulton, Kenny, King Field, Linden Hills , Lynnhurst, Tangletown, and Windom. Almost every neighborhood is located within walking distance to a park, lake, or outdoor recreation area along Lake Harriet, Lake Calhoun, or Minnehaha Creek. The Southwest community boasts many retail shops and restaurants, including local favorites Sebastian Joe’s Ice Cream Cafe and Wild Rumpus Bookstore. In the summer months, the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board puts on many activities at Lake Harriet Park, including live music at the Lake Harriet Band Shell.
