Tina Syrstad Named “Emmy” Award Winner

Edina, Minn. - Dec. 12, 2019 – Tine Syrstad, administrative assistant for Edina Realty’s agent development and education department, was honored with the Edina Realty Emma L. Rovick Memorial Award, or "Emmy," on Dec. 11 at a special luncheon for the award winners.

Established to honor company founder Emma Rovick, the "Emmy" Award is given annually to two people: One employee and one real estate agent who exemplify Edina Realty's core values of honesty, integrity and commitment.

Syrstad came to the United States from her native Russia in 1991 and began her career with Edina Realty as an agent in Burnsville in 2003. She then moved on to work in relocation, handling incoming and outgoing referrals, and then to the Apple Valley office as the listing and sales coordinator.

Syrstad has a deep commitment to the community and has served in several volunteer roles, including chair of the Technology Committee of Southern Twin Cities Association of Realtors and currently, she is the co-chair of voter services for the League of Women Voters of Dakota County and serves as an election judge. She and her husband Dan have four grown children Boris, Em, Michael and Colin.

Her award nomination read, in part: “Tina epitomizes what the Emmy award is all about. From assisting agents with event and class registration, ensuring the tech at Edina U runs smoothly, setting up webinar broadcasts, to her behind the scenes extra efforts, Tina regularly goes above and beyond. Each year, Edina Realty agents and employees nominate their colleagues for the Emmy Award, and out of 40 nominees this year, one agent and one employee were selected. Award winners must excel in customer service, leadership, team building and/or make significant contributions to the company or industry.
