Taking precautions during COVID-19

In the interest of safety, the 2020 Parade of Homes will take extra precautions to keep all attendees healthy. This year’s event has added safety guidelines and social distancing measures, including:

  • Limiting a maximum of 10 occupants per home model
  • Requiring the use of face masks
  • Maintaining six feet of space between tour participants
  • Sanitizing high-touch surfaces

In addition to these safety measures, the Parade of Homes will offer a selection of virtual home tours on available properties. Want to experience a complete tour of eligible homes from the safety and comfort of your couch? Here’s a link to all properties with virtual tours.

Looking for renovation ideas? Visit the Remodelers Showcase

A unique offshoot of the Parade of Homes, the Remodelers Showcase is a three-day event that provides an exclusive look at 40+ remodeled homes in the area.

While visiting the Remodelers Showcase, gather insights from contractors and architects who are remodeling homes to better align with modern living standards — while still keeping true to the original character of each property. Keep these tips in mind, as you may find them helpful while completing your own home improvements.

What is the Artisan Home Tour?

Last, don’t miss the Artisan Home Tour. This event features magnificent homes constructed by the area's most prominent builders and remodelers. The blend of artistic detail and skilled craftsmanship that goes into each of these homes creates a magical experience for all attendees. This is a ticketed event, so plan ahead to reserve your spot.

Do I need a real estate agent for new construction? Can a Realtor help with the Parade of Homes tour?

Yes! It is advantageous to work with a Realtor as you tour the Parade of Homes or build a brand-new home. Your agent will be an advocate for you throughout the process, explaining the steps and timeline, advising on key decisions and helping with negotiations or other challenges that arise. By starting your search at the Parade of Homes with your Realtor, you’ll have an expert on your side as you navigate the unique path of a new construction purchase. (And if you don’t bring your Realtor with you, be sure to mention to the developer that you are already working with an agent.)

Partnering with a local Realtor also means you have an agent as your advocate during COVID-19. Your agent will not only understand the norms of today’s unique housing market, but will also be up-to-speed on current safety procedures in homes and throughout the purchase process.

Be sure to work with your agent to plan a safe tour that visits all the properties that interest you the most. By teaming up with someone who has expertise in the field — and your well-being and best interests at heart — you can rest assured you’re making the right decisions as you purchase a new construction home during these unprecedented times.
