Two Edina Realty agents win scholarships supporting diversity in real estate

Minneapolis, Eden Prairie REALTORS® chosen for honor

EDINA, MN, Nov. 17, 2021 – Two Realtors licensed with Edina Realty (www.EdinaRealty.com), the largest residential real estate company in Minnesota and western Wisconsin, have won a prestigious honor given to BIPOC agents in the Twin Cities area.

Joshua McClain, an agent in Edina Realty’s Eden Prairie office, and Quincy Ballard, an agent in the Minneapolis office, were among those chosen to receive the Minnesota Realtors’ (MNR) Pathway to Achievement scholarship.

The MNR Pathway to Achievement Program is designed to promote diversity within the Realtor membership by helping people not in Minnesota's racial majority join the Realtor community and enhance their probability of long-term success in the real estate profession.

Among the benefits of the program:

  • MNR covers one year of MNR dues;
  • MNR covers one year of National Association of Realtors dues;
  • MNR covers four courses that count towards continuing education credits;

“We’re so excited that Joshua and Quincy were selected for the Pathway to Achievement program,” said Jamar Hardy, sales manager of Edina Realty’s 53rd & Lyndale office and Director of Diversity & Inclusion. “Edina Realty believes the community and company are better served when our agents are representative of all parts of our communities.”

Edina Realty believes inclusion builds stronger communities and stronger business. The company’s Diversity and Inclusion Team (DIT) of Realtors and employees actively seeks ways to bridge gaps in our communities.

McClain is in his first year as a Realtor. After working physically demanding factory jobs, he moved to a sales job and decided he wanted more. Always wanting to learn more, McClain hopes to help people build generational wealth.

Ballard is also in his first year as a Realtor, and has already begun networking and engaging with his peers. After purchasing his own home, he decided on a career move from the non-profit world. Ballard plans to focus on first-time home buyers, and wants to work towards closing the homeownership gap in Minnesota.
