Edina, Minn. - June 5, 2014 – For the 17th year in a row, Edina Realty REALTORS® and employees are taking a day off to volunteer for local community organizations.
On Tues., June 17, Edina Realty agents and staff will be working on a variety of community service projects, from painting buildings for at-risk teens to holding food drives to washing windows and doing outdoor chores for house-bound seniors.
“Community Begins at Home” embodies the Edina Realty value that each and every person can make a big difference in the community. The Edina Realty Foundation initiated the community service day in 1998.
“The business of real estate takes place in the communities we call home,” said Greg Mason, Edina Realty Home Services president and CEO. “This is just our small way of showing that we are all truly invested in our community. We come back with a sense of pride in knowing we’ve brought some measure of joy to people in our community.”
Created in 1996, the Edina Realty Foundation supports organizations that help homeless children, families and individuals in the communities where Edina Realty does business. Much of the grant money comes directly from REALTORS® in Edina Realty’s 60 offices as well as from Edina Realty. To date, the Foundation has raised more than $7.3 million.
