Business summary

Edina Realty is a Berkshire Hathaway affiliate and a wholly-owned subsidiary of HomeServices of America, Inc. It is one of the nation’s largest real estate companies with nearly 60 real estate offices and more than 2,000 REALTORS® throughout Minnesota, western Wisconsin and southwest Florida. Edina Realty's family of companies includes Edina Realty, Edina Realty Title, Edina Realty Insurance and Prosperity Home Mortgage, and Hegg Realtors, the leading real estate broker in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Edina Realty and Hegg Realtors closed 20,000 real estate transactions and $8.2 billion in sales volume in 2024. Edina Realty was recognized as a Star Tribune Top Workplace in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024.

In July 2024, Edina Realty expanded when more than 100 agents and employees from BHHS North Properties joined the company. Edina Realty took over North Properties’ Onalaska/La Crosse area office in Wisconsin and welcomed agents into Edina Realty offices throughout Minnesota.

In mid-2023, Edina Realty expanded into southwest Florida, offering broker services to buyers and sellers living in or relocating to the area.

In early 2022, Edina Realty announced its expansion into South Dakota with the acquisition of Hegg REALTORS, the top real estate company in that state, headquartered in Sioux Falls. In 2024, Hegg REALTORS closed nearly $816 million in sales volume and over 2,200 units sold. Hegg REALTORS has nearly 200 agents across the state, with offices in Sioux Falls, Rapid City, Brandon, Deadwood, Hartford, Garretson and Madison.

Edina Realty has led the market in sales for 25 consecutive years.

Edina Realty REALTORS specialize in various areas from first-time homebuyers to luxury properties, new construction, lakeshore, commercial and everything in between.

Community involvement and corporate giving

Created in 1996, the Edina Realty Foundation was conceived by a group of REALTORS and employees who expressed interest in Edina Realty and its affiliate companies focusing their charitable dollars toward homeless people and homelessness prevention in the communities they serve.

The Edina Realty Foundation is a not-for-profit, private foundation supported by the agents, employees and corporations of Edina Realty Home Services. The Edina Realty Foundation offers financial support to non-profit organizations serving homeless individuals, children and families and/or homelessness prevention in communities across Minnesota and western Wisconsin. In 2024, 170 grants totaling $284,000 were given to local organizations. Since its inception in 1996, the Edina Realty Foundation has raised more than $12 million.

In 2019, the Edina Realty Foundation partnered with the Minnesota Assistance Council for Veterans (MACV) to establish two Edina Realty Foundation Homes for Veterans. Funds from the Foundation were used to rehab two homes, so several homeless veterans now have a place to call home.

Edina Realty’s Diversity and Inclusion Team (DIT) of REALTORS and employees actively seeks ways to bridge gaps in our communities with the following vision and mission: The Diversity and Inclusion Team fosters and showcases a superior work environment and a comprehensive set of professional standards. We focus on the inclusion of all individuals and perspectives in everything we do. Our mission is to assure inclusion in our planning, our thinking and in our interactions with each other and our communities.

DIT has helped Edina Realty offer a more diverse and inclusive set of marketing materials, including a Spanish website tailored to our Spanish-speaking clients, and a set of diverse holiday greeting postcards and social media templates. Edina Realty’s DIT leadership has also been instrumental in the creation and expansion of Just Deeds, an organization that seeks to eliminate racially restrictive language from property deeds.

This team meets regularly to facilitate agent and employee education opportunities, community needs, sponsorship and involvement in community events, and ways to reach underserved areas within the Minnesota and western Wisconsin housing market.

Agent and employee recognition

Legends – Nearly 50% of our agents and employees have been with Edina Realty Home Services for 10 years or longer. Each year, we recognize and celebrate our tenured agents and employees at a special “Legends” event.

The Emma L. Rovick “Emmy” Award – This is the highest honor an Edina Realty agent or employee can receive and is given annually to one REALTOR® and one employee who embody founder Emma Rovick’s core values of honesty, integrity, commitment, innovation and community. The 2024 recipients were: Cassie Frick, Wayzata agent, and Jennifer Mitchell, Rochester office sales manager.
